Photonfocus has recently upgraded the MV1-D2048x1088-3D03-760-G2-8 laser triangulation camera product through updates to firmware and software. This backwards compatible Release 2.0 introduces a number of new features and significant improvements.

The most noticeable improvement is the increase of the scan rate to 10,000 light sections per second and an improved line scan mode. The line scan function has been enhanced by adding independent settings for gain and offset, which are no longer dependent on the laser triangulation settings or require additional FPN correction leading to better quality 2D images.
   
The trigger interface has been expanded through new functions to support system implementation and test images have been added for the detection of failures in 3D machine vision applications rounds out the new firmware release. The new firmware release is accompanied by a more expansive and improved PF3D software suite. The most important update in version V2.34 is the addition of several new data viewing options such as integrated zoom and the display of pixel and sub-pixel information.  In addition, Dual peak mode of the 3D03 has been implemented and is supported by all camera features and users have real-time access to the status information of the camera.

In order to simplify the implementation, calibration, spatial transformation and analysis of the 3D03 camera measured data into your application, Photonfocus offers the camera bundled with Aqsense Sal3D and 3D Express software.

Photonfocus releases new 3D camera MV1-D2048x1088-3D03-760-G2-8

Photonfocus extends its 3D product portfolio with the new 3D03 camera designed for high speed triangulation rates. The MV1-D2048x1088-3D03-760-G2-8 camera is based on the 2048x1088 CMOSIS CMV2000 CMOS sensor and follows the highly successful Photonfocus 3D01 and 3D02 3D cameras by implementing the Aqsense peak algorithm to ensure a sub pixel precision for the determination of the triangulation line and accurate transmission to the FPGA in the camera.  In addition to triangulation rates of up to 8450 profiles per second (2048x32 pixels) and simultaneously capturing 2 elevation profiles, the 3D03 camera can also output 2D frame data.  This allows the user considerable flexibility with configuring the lasers and cameras and ultimately reduces the cost of a triangulation system because only one camera is required for both laser line peak extraction and 2D image capture.

The new 3D03 camera features a GigE Vision and GenICam compliant interface which allows for an efficient and cost-effective set-up of high performance multi-camera 3D systems. The new 3D03 camera is fully supported by an updated version of the Photonfocus 3D Suite software and SDK offering numerous new features.  The 3D03 GigE-Vision and GenICam compatible interface allows the users to build their application using popular machine vision libraries that support GigE-Vision and GenICam standard devices. A short user guide gives you a quick introduction on how to process the 3D data with machine vision libraries.

The 3D03 is also available as an OEM module or smaller form-factor Board Level camera allowing you to easily integrate it directly into your application.  A flex adapter is available to support applications requiring custom angles (Scheimpflug principle). Both form-factors are fully supported by the 3D suite software.
